You are going to learn a very dark secret about Penny Stock Newsletters like Penny Stock Dream Team
In fact, I have to say, you might get offended when you learn this dark truth about these Penny Stock Newsletter scams out there.

Simply put, you’re the pawn or rather, the puppet of Penny Stock Newsletters.
You might exclaim, “WHAT?!?!”
Read further and listen to my explanation.

These penny stock “gurus” are actually paid by a third-party member to promote the particular penny stocks they are telling you to buy. Yes, you read it right. Is it illegal? Well, it isn’t and even if it is the SEC (Securities Exchange Commission) will have a hard time trying to trace them down. In fact, it is even done in media LEGALLY.
For instance, an “analyst” might urge investors that this particular stock is a “sure buy” or “sell immediately” or he labels it as “bullish” or “bearish”. What most people do not know is these “analysts” have already bought or shorted the stock before he released the news. Those whom blindly follow their orders to start accumulating or selling the stocks are actually just making them more richer. When was the time they told you to “buy” and then later told you when to profit it? They DON’T, because neither do they know how to predict the market’s erratic behaviour.

Now that’s similar to what these penny stock “gurus” are doing. Here’s a quick breakdown:

  1. A third-party trader buys a huge lot of stocks in a particular penny stock. He then finds a penny stock newsletter website like Penny Stock Dream Team and compensates them to advertise the penny stock for them.
  2. The penny stock guru now starts to create a hype by telling his penny stock newsletter subscribers that he has found a stock that is sure to breakout – creating intense interest and greed among these poor souls.
  3. On a particular day, when the time is right, the guru mass emails all his subscribers about it.
  4. Not just that, usually these gurus possess some extreme email spamming softwares. They could spam the hell out of the public telling them that this penny stock is a sure thing. And that is why sometimes when you see your spam inbox, you would see some strange guy sending you emails about penny stock picks and you didn’t even subscribe or know them at all.
  5. Sometimes, other traders whom got too greedy or even the guru himself would go to those stock bulletin board and forums to advertise about it.
  6. With all these hype and surge of buyers, the penny stock’s price surges with huge volume. This is all about supply and demand. The more demand a stock has, the higher the price will go. Also, penny stock are very sensitive to market demand. When such huge purchase are made, the price would surge higher and higher within the shortest period of time.
  7. Now here’s where the public comes in. Amateur traders and technical analysts whom are finding stocks to buy will be intrigued by the penny stock’s sudden interest. They will become intrigued too and they start buying the same penny stock, thus causing the price to rise further and higher.
  8. Now the sad part – the third party immediately closes his position by selling all his penny stocks at once. A sudden drop in the penny stock’s price sparked a panic selling among those whom are holding the penny stock. Within days, the penny stock’s value fell at such drastic rate that it becomes worthless again.

Creating A Company On the Internet

Professional tax preparation is a booming business. Places like H R; Block promise bigger returns, corrections of past mistakes and quick money. I can’t remember a January where I didn’t drive by the local tax preparation office to see long lines and anxious tax payers waiting for their refund checks.
Year after year, my husband and I prepared our own taxes with programs like Turbo Tax and the like thinking that we were saving money. We could not justify paying $100 or more to someone else when we could simply input numbers, apply a stamp and wait for the US Government to send us money.

When I started my own small business in 2004, we had many questions about business write offs, mileage and general tax questions as a couple with a new business. We turned to Slye Accounting in Symmes Township located at 11925 Montgomery Road (off the Field’s Ertel exit from 71 or the Montgomery Road exit from 275) in Cincinnati. I, like so many other people believed that if we weren’t rich or we didn’t have anything to complicate our taxes that we were better off doing them ourselves. But all of a sudden, I had all of these important questions about my business that weighed so heavily on my mind. What if I did something wrong? What if I ended up with an audit? I wanted to be able to trust someone with my business tax details and that was not easy.

Corporate Tax Write Off

Leonard Slye, the owner of Slye Accounting is extremely knowledgeable about both personal tax laws as well as businesses, both large and small. After talking with him for just a few minutes, he identified more deductions that we were allowed to take as well as how to go about recording them. During our first tax preparation with Slye Accounting, Leonard Slye made a change to our taxes because of a tax “rule”. We were completely unaware of this government rule but it has literally saved us thousands of dollars. Year after year, we are eligible for this rule and would have never known about it without trusting Slye Accounting with our business and personal taxes – especially for organizing a Wyoming LLC inexpensively.

As if saving us money is not enough, Slye Accounting provides us with so much more than tax preparation. There are several other services or advantages to using Slye Accounting for your personal or business tax returns.

* Slye Accounting is open year round , not just tax season, and will answer your questions anytime during business hours by simply calling them at 513-677-0300. Leonard Slye can usually answer my questions in seconds and he always makes suggestions that end up benefiting me later. There is no charge at Slye Accounting for their customer’s questions.

* Slye Accounting keeps your information in their computer and files so that if you have a question about your taxes, income or any information found in your files, you can call them. I am embarrassed to say that I have called them for simple information that I should have kept myself. I have called and asked for my tax identification number for my business several times. Audrey, one of Leonard’s associates at Slye Accounting, looks up my information and gives it to me without a problem.WY Limited Liability Company Organization

* Slye Accounting sends out valuable tax resources year round to their customers with tax information and updates. The information is much needed as their clients figure out what they can claim and how much they will claim for things like gas mileage which changes every year. This valuable information and a lot more is included in Slye Accounting’s informational brochures sent free to their clients.

* Slye Accounting keeps copies of your tax returns for at least 7 years. That means if you are audited or your tax records are lost in a fire or for another reason, Slye Accounting has the copies that you would need to replace.

* Slye Accounting uses a tax program to crunch the numbers and help prepare taxes. This program is able to identify ways to utilize laws and avenues for more savings. This year, my small business showed a profit for the first time and we were sweating bullets anticipating the amount that we would be paying in taxes. We were pleasantly surprised at the end result when Leonard Slye explained to us that we had home office expenses that laid dormant from other years of not needing to claim the expenses. The program simply applied the expenses to the current year and wiped out the profit that we showed. This was another example of thousands of dollars saved for us because we trusted Slye Accounting with our tax return.

Limited Liability Company Taxation

* Slye Accounting certainly stays busy during tax season but you will not wait in long lines, face angry, impatient employees or feel like your business is not appreciated. Slye Accounting has a little children’s section with coloring books and toys to help entertain children. They have snacks, nuts and candy set out along with free calendars and pens for their customers. You will leave Slye Accounting wondering why you ever prepared your own taxes or paid anyone else to prepare them.

Slye Accounting gives their customers peace of mind that they left no stone unturned and prepared their taxes in a way that benefits them completely. I felt compelled to write about this company after using Slye Accounting’s services for the 4th year in a row last month. Owners like Leonard Slye deserve their businesses recognized for exceptional work and extraordinary customer service.

Slye Accounting offers much more than tax preparation like payroll services and more. You can use the contact information below to contact Leonard Slye or any of his dedicated staff to get more information. Meanwhile, think about how you will spend all the money Slye Accounting saves you next year!

Website Information

online securityIn a case if your site is hosted on shared server or due to any other reason if you are not allowed to upload the robots.txt file on the site root directory than you can go for the robots meta tag. They work in a similar fashion in which the robots.txt work. The difference is only that, you can specify the meta tags in the HTML file Head section rather than in the seprate file.

For e.g.

<head>
<meta name="robots" content="noidex" >
</head>
<head>
<meta name="robots" content="none" >
</head>

Meta robots content value

Value Description
index Include the page in indexing of a site by the crawlers.
noidex Does not include the page in indexing of a site by the crawlers.
nofollow Tell the crawlers not to folllow any links on the page.
follow Allow the crawlers to follow the links on the page.
none Its equivalent to noindex, nofollow. E.g.

<META NAME="robots" CONTENT="none">

noarchive Make it sure that Search result page should not show the \\\’cached\\\’ page link from their server.
noodp SERPs should not display page title and description from ODP(Open Directory Project).
noyodp SERPs should not display page title and description from Yahoo Directory(Open Directory Project).
nosnippet description from appearing below the page in the search results, as well as prevents caching of the page.

if you have multiple content values then, you can use comma to seprate them. Adding spaces to seprate the values does not make any sense.

For e.g.

<head>
<meta name="robots" content="noidex,nofollow" >
</head>

* SERPs = Search engine result page.

Submission of sitemap to various search engines is very easy and helps in improving the page rank and indexing on our site in the search engines. We must follow this step to boost up the ranking of our site.

Xml Sitemap contains all the links of the website. It has Url of the page, Last modified date, Change frequency and priority of the every page. Any one can see the sitemap posted on your site.

For improving and increasing the site rank of your web site you must submit your site map to following search engines :

1. Google – Google Webmaster tool

2. Bing or Yahoo – Bing Webmaster tool

3. Ask.com

Submission of sitemap to these sites is very simple and easy. First you have to create the sitemap for your own website, then you are ready to go for submission.

Submission to GOOGLE

Google is providing the free Google Webmaster tool services for submitting the sitemap to its owm search engine. For this you have to create the free account for Google webmaster or you can use the gmail account details to login to the system. Then from the dashboard you have to select  your site and one page will be displayed. On the left hand side of this page in Site Configuration there is one submenu SITEMAPS. Click on this submenu and one page will gets displayed. Now, from here you can Test, Submit your site map to the google. This basically helps in indexing of the webpages, increase in the rank of website.

Submission to Bing (Yahoo)

In 2011 yahoo webmaster account aka Yahoo Site Explorer gets merged with So, When you submit your site map to Bing Webmaster tool. . Bing will manage the submission to yahoo and bing in both the search engines. For this you have to create an account in bing and after that you can login to the Bing Webmaster Center and verify your site and after that you can submit the sitemap to the Search engine.

Submission to Ask.com

Although Ask.com as a search engine doent exist any more. But you can still submit sitemap manually to it. You can add the below link

http://submissions.ask.com/ping?sitemap=http://www.DOMAIN.com/sitemap.xml

in the address bar of web browser and press the hit button to submit your sitemap, where DOMAIN = your website name. Now you will see the successful message for submission. For e.g.

http://submissions.ask.com/ping?sitemap=http://www.geekopensource.com/si…

by using the above link in the addressbar of the web browser.

You can check the urls of your site indexed in google in the following way

https://www.google.co.in/search?q=site:domain.com

where domain is equal to the name of your site. you just have to enter the url in the address bar for the search in the google and have to press the hit button. For e.g.for the non-www urls you can check in the following way

https://www.google.co.in/search?q=site:geekopensource.com

and you will be able to see all the urls listed for your domain. And for the www urls you have to add the www in the url of your domain. For e.g.

https://www.google.co.in/search?q=site:www.geekopensource.com

That’s it what i came to know about it. If u have any other information related to it. Please do share it with by adding your comment in the box below.

HTML Sitemap

They helps the user to navigate all the important pages of your site from one page of the site. This will cover all the links which are not discovered by the Crawlers or if the user is unable to find any page by search process on the site.

What is HTML sitemap?
It is a web page on your site which covers all the links on your site. This is basically a structure of the pages on your site. These are created for user friendly website navigation and for the search engines. Eg. of image  or any article, post that has been archived on your site.

Importance : This will make browsing the site easy by the user. From the single page on your site user can navigate to all the links available on your site. It is viewed by both the humans and the search engines.

How to create the HTML Sitemap?

You can use plain html as it is used to create the other pages on the site. You can use css styles, html tags like table, tr etc.You can also categorize the links on the basis of products, articles, different categories, or by the archives of the months etc.

Limitations

You must create the multiple files for if there are 100 links or more than this links are there. Suppose you have 100 or above links but less than 200 links for the html site map than you can create the two html sitemap files to be submitted to google. and in the similar way you can add the more files to your sitemap if there are more than 200 links in your site. and we must intelink these multiple pages with each other. In other way all the sitemap links page must be interlinked to be followed one after another.

E.g. It is a good practice to keep 100 links per page for the html sitemap. and we should update them daily as they got expired as soon as crawlers follow all the links on this sitemap. Will soon add the example for this.

If you have more information related to this article or any suggestion than do correct me by posting your comments in the box below.

improve the content and links on 404 page.

For indexing on google you must avoid invalid, broken url’s on your site. You must create the 404 status html page on your site to provide better experience to the user of the site. On this page you can add some useful text rather than “Page not found” message. Following things can be added

1. Search box with the search facility.

2. Link to home page.

3. Link to parent directory of the site.

4. Closest match of the url which the user has typed in the addree bar of the page.

By using the above things you can keep the user on your site rather than he moves to another site.

* Note: you must keep the design of the 404 page similar to the design of the whole site.

What is a Linkback ?

It is a web method which tells the author on the web that who is linking to their blog, document or referring their post in their article. It is a two way linking process. There are three types of it.

  1. Pingback
  2. Trackback
  3. Refback

What is Interlinking?

Interlinking refers to linking the posts, articles which are available in your own blog. You can link all the articles which are of similar topic or category. For example you can link Sitemaps related article to each other. In the similar way there is a possibility that any SEO article can be linked to any specific category article. In this way we can create the Web for our internal article links, which can help in improving the page ranking of the site. In this we are creating a link between two articles of our blog.

*Try not to include the broken links in your articles.

Will soon add the more information related to linkbacks.

Meanwhike if u have more information about these  or any suggestion, then please contact me or provide your comments in the box.

From a command prompt on ubuntu type following commands.

  • Brand Niemann (to All – Entire Audience): I have suggested that the Autism Group start with simple ontologies for FOAF, DOAP, etc.
  • Brand Niemann (to All – Entire Audience): Ontologies form the basis for building semantic applications in the SW and capuring real data in RDF format
  • Jeremy Sanderlin (to All – Entire Audience): I see that ontologies have a close association with a traditional object class in OO programming
  • Brand Niemann (to All – Entire Audience): Jim, We have talked about importing the major ontologies like SUMO, etc.
  • Jeremy Sanderlin (Private): okay Brand. I now see the connect between OO programming and ontologies/sematic wiki. I think I see this coming together.
  • Brand Niemann (to All – Entire Audience): Great! I can send you some excellent tutorials that have been presented in our SICoP meetings and conferences. SEE BELOW
  • Jeremy Sanderlin (Private): I would very much like to work through those tutorials. There seems to be a bit of a learning curve.

    See http://www.visualknowledge.com/wiki/autism
  • 5. Followup Discussion:
    • Jeremy R Sanderlin: Our instructors specified that we must produce a web application that contains a database element and an OO programming element, in the traditional sense. Therefore any application that we develop must contain these components in order to satisfy our course objectives.
    • Brand: I understand your instructors position and when you have done that the traditional way then we can show you how that has evolved to a more versatile pardigm with ontologies in the Semantic Wiki.

Five Step Process for Working in the Semantic Wiki:

  • 1. Prepare a CoP Mission Statement
  • 2. Prepare a CoP Membership List
  • 3. Prepare a CoP Strategy
  • 4. Hold a Wiki Training Conference Call (with items 1-3 entered into the Wiki space)
  • 5. Get commitments to collaboratively publish and edit trusted reference knowledge sources in the Wiki space.
  1. Mission Statement: Help autistic people publish their experiences and learn to build and use information technology services on the World Wide Web.

  1. Strategy:

Investigate the use of Semantic Wiki technology for content management and for an ontology-based platform for building services. Ontologies are an advanced technique to structure knowledge and may help autistic people learn abstract reasoning. A free test Semantic Wiki is available through SICoP (Brand Niemann, Co-Chair) and Visual Knowledge (Kyle Recsky). See http://colab.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?FifthSemanticInteroperabilityforEGovernmentConference_2006_10_1011 and http://vkwiki.visualknowledge.com/. The Project Presentation is to be scheduled sometime during April 5-May 1, 2007.

  1. Training Conference Call:
    • Monday, October 23, 2006, 6 PM EST
    • URL for GoTo Meeting: Kyle Will Provide

https://www.gotomeeting.com/join/538910074

meeting ID is 538-910-074

  • Call-in Number: (319) 632-1100 and Access Code: 484206
  • Items 1-3 have been placed in the test Semantic Wiki space
  1. Commitments to Collaborate on Trust Reference Knowledge:

The Team agreed at the October 17th meeting to pursue a parallel, hopefully converging – efforts on the following:

  • a. Use of the Semantic Wiki as a Content Management System to capture (publish and edit) and structure the Autistic experience. Brand will help Scott and others with this starting with extracting the concepts in Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autism) and other Web resources to comment on and to relate to one another (called Dublin Core Metadata and Description of a Project in the Semantic Web).
  • b. Programming of one or more services in each of the three basic categories:
    • b.1. non-autistic-to-non-autistic: e.g., event management (master calendar), contact information (called Friend-of-a-Friend in the Semantic Web)
    • b.2. non-autistic-to-autistic: e.g. teacher-for-student and parent online journal of learning progress
    • b.3 autistic: e.g. put features of proprietary CD-ROM software products on the Internet that have demonstrated success like Scientific Learning’s Fast ForWord (http://www.scilearn.com/results/student/specialed/main=pdd/p-1)
    • b.4 GIS maps of Autistic data for Georgia and nationally (if reliable data is available) using SVG tools developed by EPA Region 4 (Richard Hammond) to make those GIS maps interactive without the need to setup an ARCGis Server. LandView 6 can also be used (see http://landview.census.gov and narrated tutorials at http://web-services.gov/EnviroQUEST_Tutorials/SA_Tutorial_1.html, http://web-services.gov/EnviroQUEST_Tutorials/SA_Tutorial_2.html, and http://web-services.gov/EnviroQUEST_Tutorials/SA_Tutorial_3.html)
    • b5. Collaborate with “CDC Launches Multi-state Study on Autism; $5.9 Million Awarded to Five Sites (California, Colorado, Maryland, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania) that form the Centers for Autism and Developmental Disabilities Research and Epidemiology (CADDRE) Network. CDC will also be participating in the study, and will include children and their parents from the metropolitan Atlanta area.” (see http://www.cdc.gov/od/oc/media/pressrel/r061006.htm). This could be coordinated with the EPA-State Environmental Health Data Action Team (see http://colab.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?EPAEnvironmentHealthDataforDRM2)
    • b6. Explore use of advanced semantic extraction technology. For example see Chuck Rehberg (Semantic Insights), Semantic Digital Research Librarian Services at http://colab.cim3.net/file/work/SICoP/2006-10-10/Presentations/CREhberg10112006.ppt with an autism application!

Online Website Setup

Setup git explained

Tue, 04/17/2012 – 13:22 admin

  • Git

At the heart of GitHub is an open source version control system (VCS) called Git*. Created by the same dudes that created Linux, Git is responsible for everything GitHub related that happens locally on your computer. If you don’t already know what Git is, I am here to help you 🙂

Step 1: Create an account on github.com, if you don’t have one.

Step 2: Download and install the latest version of Git with Synaptic. I will suggest you install git-core, git-gui, and git-doc.

From GUI: Go to Applications->System->Synaptic Package Manager. With “ALL” package choose from left pane, scrool down and when you’ve selected git-core, git-gui, and git-doc, hit “Apply” to install them.

*Note* In newer Debian/Ubuntu installations you will find git instead of git-core.

OR

From Command Line: sudo apt-get install git-core git-gui git-doc

Step 3: Set Up SSH Keys

We use SSH keys to establish a secure connection between your computer and GitHub. Setting them up is fairly easy. To generate a new SSH key, enter the code below. We want the default settings so when asked to enter a file in which to save the key, just press enter.

$ ssh-keygen -t rsa -C “your_email@youremail.com”

– Creates a new ssh key using the provided email. When prompted, you need to enter a passphrase.

This is it. you are done. Continue reading

Consumer Loyalty Programs on The Rise with Companies

Chances are if you shop at a grocery store you have a rewards or loyalty card. These cards offer you special savings off sale items, points that can be redeemed for promotions and even savings at the gas pump. A simple swipe of the card loads your number into the register and allows you all those wonderful benefits of being “a member”. Have you ever stopped to think about where that information goes? Who has access to it? What it’s used for? Well, that question plagued me for the better part of two years; when I asked the grocery store manager some of those questions you would have thought I put a knife to his throat and FBI agents would be repelling from the ceiling. He looked at me, cocked his head to the side and said, “Why, exactly, do you want to know?”
Consumer privacy is a true oxymoron, that goes double where reward and loyalty programs are concerned. You can have an ultra paranoid person that guards every facet of her or her privacy, refuses to shop online, won’t talk to telemarketers and doesn’t belong to any mailing list freely give out their information to save a few dollars at the grocery store. If stores were able to tell you, without a doubt, that your information was safe then it wouldn’t be an issue but with all the recent cyber crimes and thefts, something somewhere needs to change.

One organization that speaks out about grocery store privacy invasion is C.A.S.P.I.A.N, Consumers Against Supermarket Privacy And Numbering. This group was behind the now infamous “CVS Cyber Punch” that showed the website was flawed. A user could access to private information and purchase history by entering the reward card number, zip code and part of the card holders last name. Not exactly hard information to obtain when you consider it was printed on the receipt. Continue reading

Company Branded Cards

Imagine if you will; you are at the grocery store and are waiting in line. Someone in front of you is buying a basket full of things. Rope, permanent markers, vinegar, a few candy bars and a box of trash bags. They don’t have a reward card so they ask if they can use yours. If you are getting points for dollars spent, that is an easy way to “up your level” A few weeks later there is a knock at your door and the police want to know what you did with those trash bags that turned up at the scene of a crime and the permanent markers that were used to write a ransom note. Starting to see why reward cards can be a dangerous dealing?

Consumers have two options; don’t shop at stores that strong-arm you into getting a rewards card for savings or give out the minimum amount of information needed to obtain one. More and more people are refusing to sign up for cards because they feel it is an invasion of privacy; they would rather borrow someone else’s card or lose out on saving a few dollars in order to protect their information. There are only a handful of stores in my area that don’t have reward cards; they are extremely vocal in their advertisements of offering the lowest possible prices, “no card needed”.

If you are going to sign up for a loyalty card, read the fine print. See exactly who is going to have access to your information and how it is going to be used. In most cases it is used by companies to see what brands are hot in certain areas, how much a family spends, if coupons are used and what percentage of products are paid for with state funding [welfare, food stamps or WIC]. This might not sound like it would do a single store much good but when it is compared to others and on a national scale, it allows the corporate offices to fine tune prices, products offered and target demographics.

Privacy is something that you can’t put a price on so think twice before you freely give up your information. If you do have reward or loyalty cards be sure to check the store website for updates or changes in how they are protecting your data. Write down your card numbers and the toll free customer service numbers in case your cards or key fobs are stolen or misplaced, especially if they are linked to your checking account or other store perks (video rentals, check cashing, pharmacy rewards etc).

Setup zend command line tool in ubuntu

Submitted by admin on Sat, 05/26/2012 – 20:19

We should ensure these points while setting the zend framework command line tool in linux/ubuntu

  1. zf.sh should be system path – most appropriate plac to put this file is /usr/bin. or you can make a symbolic link for this file inside /usr/bin
  2. Zend framework library should be in include_path.

To ahcieve point 2 approach as below –

$locate php.ini

It will result the path of php.ini file in ubuntu. let say it is /etc/php5/cli/php.ini

$sudo vi   /etc/php5/cli/php.ini

Find the include_path and add the zend framework library in this path

Now type

$zf or $zf.sh and it’s done.

Unserialize in php and serialize in jquery

Let say we have a form which we are serializing using jquery. Code snippet to serialize the form is –

var serializedData = $(form).serialize();
// post this data using jquery post to php page
$.post( 'processSerializedData.php', {data:serializedData}, function(data){ } )

Now unserialize the data in php using below code snippet –

$serializedData = $_POST['data'];
$unserializedData = array();
parse_str($unserializedData,$serializedData);
print_r($unserializedData);

That’s It

Why to use the Meta Tags ‘NOODP’ and ‘NOYDIR’ for SEO?

While doing the study for the SEO, I came to know about the meta tags <meta name=\”ROBOTS\” content=\”NOODP\”>. As I do not know about this tag so i started digging about this tag and i am curious to know what are the pros and cons of using this meta tag.

Search engines some time use the title and Snippet (description) from ODP listing of a website in the search result page listing.  To disallow the search engines from using the title and description from ODP listing, this meta tag is used. The NOODP tag allows you to essentially opt out of the open directory
project title and description override. ODP listing title and description are updated after 3-4 days by the crawlers. This tag will help in overriding the values of the ODP listing and allow using the new updated values for page title and description. So, it will help in listing of the recent values of the page titles and description.

Now the \”NOYDIR\” meta tag in the content is basically used for the Yahoo directory listing. This metatag content will help in overriding the page title and description listed on the Yahoo Directory. Its use is similar as the above NOODP tag except it is used for Yahoo Directory!

In 2006 Microsoft introduced \”NOODP\” value for the robots Meta tag, Google followed this in July 2006 and Yahoo! in October 2006.

The syntax for using this Meta tag in your website is as follow :

  • For Google : To disallow google bot to list the page snippet and title we should use the below tag :
    <meta name=”googlebot” content=”NOODP” />
  • For Yahoo, if you want that yahoo does not use the title and snippet from ODP, Use the following tag :
    <meta name=”slurp” content=”NOYDIR” />
  • For MSN bot use the below tag :
    <meta name=”msnbot” content=”NOODP” />
  • To implement this tag in one line we can use the following :
    <meta name=”robots” content=”NOODP,NOYDIR” />

Where to add this meta tag on your webpage?
You can add this tag in the <head> section of your website. For e.g

<head>
<meta name=”robots” content=”NOODP,NOYDIR” />
</head>

So, now you dont need to worry about updating the page title and meta description in the Yahoo and OPD. As, You are using these tags and this will avoid allowing the search engines to use an older, outdated and possibly the irrelevant title and description from these two sources.

* ODP = Open Directory Project = DMOZ listing

How to deny specific urls of a website from a network in apache configuration file

htaccess

Here is an example to avoid any url to be accessed outside the networks listed. Let’s say we have some urls on our website www.site_name.com/url_one & www.site_name.com/url_two. We want somebody outside our own network should not be able to access these pages. We can write some lines to achieve this in .htaccess files.

Let say we have IPS of our network 198.10.10.10 168.10.10.10 158.10.10.10 148.10.10.10. Then to avoid url_one and ulr_two should be accessed outside the given IPS write below lines in htaccess file.

SetEnvIf Request_URI “/url_one” restrict_two_urls
SetEnvIf Request_URI “/url_tow” restrict_two_urls

Order deny,allow
Deny from env=restrict_two_urls
Allow from 198.10.10.10 168.10.10.10 158.10.10.10 148.10.10.10
